ID Watchdog Extends Free Resolution Offer to LifeLock CEO

DENVER, CO – May 20, 2010 – ID Watchdog, Inc. (TSX.V: IDW) (OTCQX: IDWAF), provider of comprehensive consumer identity theft protection and resolution services, announced its intention to offer complimentary identity theft resolution and restoration services to Todd Davis, the embattled CEO of well-known marketer LifeLock.

Despite claims that his company’s heavily-advertised service offers “proactive identity theft protection,” a Wired.com story yesterday reported that Mr. Davis was himself a victim of identity theft at least 13 times.  The perpetrators used Mr. Davis’ identity to obtain a loan from a check cashing company, open utilities, and secure wireless accounts, among other activities.

IDWatchdog, who employs a team of certified, in-house identity theft recovery experts, includes full-service, power-of-attorney driven identity restoration and resolution services in its core product suite.  ID Rehab, as the service is known, places the time-consuming, frustrating, and often expensive burden of recovering from identity theft into the hands of ID Watchdog’s experienced and professional team of recovery experts.

“I’d like to extend a helping hand to Mr. Davis in his time of need, and make our ID Rehab services available to him, free of charge,” said Daniel Mohan, President and COO of ID Watchdog.

Because the ID Rehab service is embedded in its core product suite, Mr. Mohan is also offering Mr. Davis a free annual subscription to its comprehensive ID Watchdog Plus identity monitoring service. “Given Mr. Davis’ unfortunate history with identity theft, I’d like to offer him an alternative to any identity theft protection service to which he may currently subscribe. Our clients rest easy knowing that if they do become a victim, ID Watchdog will do all the heavy lifting on their behalf to resolve their issues.  I’d like to extend that assurance to Mr. Davis as well. ”

LifeLock’s claims of protection from identity theft have come under fire recently, earning the company known for its PR stunts a $12 million Federal Trade Commission fine in March for deceptive business practices.  The Chairman of the FTC himself, Jon Leibowitz, stated “While LifeLock promised consumers complete protection against all types of identity theft, in truth, the protection it actually provided left enough holes that you could drive a truck through it.”
